Alpha and Omega

Description:
Two young wolves at opposite ends of their pack's social order are thrown together into a foreign land and need each other to return home, but love complicates everything.

It was an okay movie, not too amazing in any form. I loved the tails, nice and puffy. Comedy was okay, and the birds should learn not to fly when one of the Eastern wolves howl as they fall at first. I think the omega is mental unstable in his quest for adventure. The alpha..didn't like her too much, due to her attitude at first. And her sister was okay, though I wonder how her sister is an alpha and she is an omega..or the fact that two brown wolves create a brown and white....Loved the mother wolf, she was well crazy.
***Note: Howling has magical abilities.

Oppai Chanbara: Striptease Samurai Squad

Summary:
This over the top release from Japan spoofs everything from video games, to martial arts movies, to sexploitation cinema, as it follows the story of Lili, a warrior who wields a deadly sword style that can only be practiced under three conditions: the fight must be life-or-death, the fighter must be female, and the fighter must, of course, be stacked.

First let me start by saying this title is an outright lie. Pulling out your tits is not considered a striptease, the "samurai" style is hardly there, and there is no squad. An okay movie? Not sure I had troubles reading the subtitles… yeah…some things I would not like to see too much in a movie. Plot was confusing, can't say why that would give the plot a way. I feel as if the plot gave me mind-rape but the visual-rape was more so and happened more often than the mind…so…I mean I guess it depends on the audiences taste, and I'm sure it was mainly directed at males.

The Avengers

Summary:
Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. assembles a team of superhumans to save the planet from Loki and his army.

Great movie. Saw it in theater...oh my google yes I do walk outside, and sometimes watch the movie in the theater. I found Hawkeye to be well useless most of the movie, but he was being controlled...Black Widow was cool, I liked the back story they gave her. Tony Stark, the narcissist we love...Thor, I now want to find the movie "Thor", though I wonder about Loki...I mean he is the bad guy in both movies, does he not learn? The Hulk was funny...Not sure what I thought of Captain America....Can't wait for the second movie.
Sorry, could not help myself.--->

Fear and Loathing in Las Vagas

Description:
An oddball journalist and his psychopathic lawyer travel to Las Vegas for a series of psychedelic escapades.

Interesting movie. Very crazy, due to the drugs. The plot was hard to understand at points, once again due to the drugs. I liked the movie a lot, I can see why it was a box office failure, but it was based on something real, those movies don't tend to do too well...Unless it's a movie based on a real dream with a sparkling vampire...

Godzilla vs King Ghidorah

Description:
Time travelers use Godzilla in their scheme to destroy Japan to prevent the country's future economic reign.

Otaku:
Why is it that in every movie, everyone forgets that Godzilla is for the most part good. Just because King Ghidorah has three heads doesn't means he knows how to use the heads effectively to try and win against Godzilla.

Crazy:
The technology was good in this film. There was also some futuristic stuff going on. Found it interesting how past and present working together. A lot of action going throughout movie.Killing the first Godzilla seemed like a good idea. Though I found the second Godzilla bigger, stronger, and meaner. Didn't care for the three headed one, heads too random, one strike the others miss???When you watch check the middle one for more strikes.

Ultra Man

Description:
In the near future, sinister aliens and giant prehistoric monsters threaten civilization! The only one equipped to handle these disasters is the Science Patrol, a special police force with high-tech weapons and vehicles at their disposal. Led by Captain "Cap" Muramatsu, the Science Patrol is ready to protect the Earth from the ravaging monsters. But when the situation becomes desperate, Hayata, one of the Patrol's members holds the key to our salvation. Fate has given Hayata the ability to secretly transform into an amazing, superpowered giant from space. A being known as Ultraman!

Ultra Man, had multiple episodes (it also has spin-offs which I haven't watched yet), some were cute others dumb as door nail, and some ugly monsters too, don't want to leave them out cause every one needs love. There is something for everyone in them, you have a father protecting his family, children liking some of the monsters. Ultra Man accidentally coming here and staying in giving his life for the one he took by mistake, makes him a hero of sorts. But he only came to  help when man-kind could not do it alone. Also some of the episodes I watched would switch for no reason to Japanese then back. But fun for the young family viewing.

Mirror, Mirror

Description:
An evil queen steals control of a kingdom and an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright.

I expected more of the classical story type that Disney has imprinted on my brain. Loved the seven dwarfs and the puppy love. The dresses looked amazing, though I wonder how much they weighed/cost, and if they got wet. Comedy, action, and romance what more could I ask for in a movie....well actually a lot, but it was a good movie. I like that the princess takes a dominant role in trying to save the kingdom, but since other movies are doing that....not too liking of the idea. Hollywood needs to back down after a couple movies of basically the same thing too soon...example two Snow White themed movies that Snow White is a dominant type of person, that come out in relatively the same amount of time. Not sure if I want to watch the other one, or if I will just wait till the princess thing rides out.

Kung Pow! Enter the Fist

Description:
A rough-around-the-edges martial arts master seeks revenge for his parent's death.

It was a funny movie? Not sure what I was thinking to watch the movie...Still not sure what the plot was, nor do I plan to watch this again.Yes, sometimes it is fun to make fun of foreign movies, but I think there is a limit, and this movie passed my limit. I like parodies normally, but once again limits... the plot was ....wait what plot??

Vampires Suck

Description:
A spoof of vampire-themed movies, where teenager Becca finds herself torn between two boys. As she and her friends wrestle with a number of different dramas, everything comes to a head at their prom.

Parody of the Twilight Saga. I think that's enough to be said. Becca is suicidal in many scenes through the movie, more or less than Bella in the corresponding scenes in Twilight. I don't really like the Twilight Saga movies, liked the books, and normally love parodies…so this was the shining light at the end of the tunnel after seeing the movies. Still trying to figure her father's issue out....loneliness?…crazy?…both?…or something else?

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all ....well...Fathers.

Despicable Me

Description:
When a criminal mastermind uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds their love is profoundly changing him for the better.

Nice movie for the whole family. Loved the minions, though I wonder where he got them, I want one o(^▽^)o I don't think Gru thinks many things through entirely. I thought the ending was pretty good and didn't leave room for a sequel, but there is a teaser trailer saying 2013. Assuming the appopcolypus doesn't happen in December, cool. But the video only had the minions singing(?) but no real hint to anything…seriously what is the new issue, or are they just riding on the popularity of the first movie and now ride.

xxxHolic

Description:
The series' plot focuses on Kimihiro Watanuki, a high school student plagued by spirits with a strong attraction to him. The spirits are invisible to others and encounters with them are extremely troublesome. When he stumbles into a shop that grants wishes, however, events in his life promise to become more unusual. The shop is owned by Yūko Ichihara, a mysterious witch of many names and esoteric renown. For a price, she offers to grant Watanuki's wish to be rid of the spirits. The price, according to Yūko, must be of equal value and so, as payment, he temporarily becomes Yūko's part-time employee. Watanuki's job consists of small errands dealing with the supernatural and household chores. Himawari Kunogi, Watanuki's love interest, and Shizuka Dōmeki, a classmate who Watanuki detests, occasionally join him in his work as per Yūko's request. The three become increasingly close despite Watanuki's annoyance with Dōmeki. Although Watanuki becomes happy with the new friendships he makes, he becomes concerned about Yūko, promising he will try to grant her wish.

It was really funny, though it had its serious moments and all. Before I watched it I thought that Watanuki was more level-headed than he really was...I mean he is the main source of the comedy in one form or another. Watanuki is a smart kid, but he makes some stupid mistakes by forgetting important lessons from another previous episode. I liked that they put the filler episode at the end of it, instead of in the middle where it can confuse a person.

Death Trance

Description:
Once upon a time there was a king who ruled by fear. Upon discovering the existence of the Goddess of Destruction he resurrected her, but this only lead to the destruction of his own country. As a result of the carnage, she was sealed in a box that was kept in a very deep, dark place. The box was locked with many keys, keys that were then spread across the world. Many years later a Samurai discovered the box and decided to challenge the Goddess of Destruction, but first he had to gather all the keys and fight through hordes of undead soldiers. Can you really defeat a Goddess?

Read a couple of chapters, so my judgement is not the best to give a review (some of the pages didn't want to load, so I was missing some stuff, and will get back to it). The manga, has random pictures from the movie...well as far as I can tell. For now, I don't like it too much...Yes, it gives a back story of sorts to the movie, but it just is not clicking too well for me.
***Update: I finished reading it, and it leaves off where the movie ends....and it seemed like the movie yet not like the movie. It was like the movie, since it had similar scenes....Yet, it was different, because it is supposed to happen before the movie, so he can't save the world from doom before he saves the world from doom.....

Hotaru no Hikaru (glow of the firefly)

Description:
Hotaru works for a famous interior design company. It's a glamorous job but Hotaru's private life is totally the opposite of glamorous. She lives alone, and when she isn't working she's mostly lazing about her rented house in training wear. She's not interested in men. In fact, she isn't interested in anything. "I'd rather lay around than fool around," is her motto.
Her landlord is a bar owner, and one day his son, who has just separated from his wife, comes to inspect the rental property, not knowing that someone is living there. He is shocked at the mess, but not as shocked as Hotaru. He turns out to be her boss, Takano.

At times I wanted to straggle the characters...but it is a drama so that is expected to happen, since there needed to be conflict. The end was disappointing to me and seems like nothing really happened. It kinda of surprised me that most of the show takes place in just one summer....

Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur

Description:
Scooby-Doo and Mystery, Inc. encounter a wild motorcycle gang, mad scientists, and white collar criminals in their quest to uncover the secret of the Phantosaur, a mythical beast said to stand guard over secret treasures stashed deep in the desert. All the gang wanted was a relaxing trip to the spa, but when the creature comes out to play and Shaggy uses hypnosis to unleash his inner hero, the race to solve yet another supernatural mystery begins.

Overall, it's a general Scooby-Doo movie (there is a mystery and the gang solves it). I loved the crazy colors that were going on in the movie, and the educational things they randomly tossed in about dinosaurs (and snakes). At the beginning on the movie I was worried, since the drawing was much different and I was thinking they were going to have the whole movie drawn like that.
*The voice actor of Shaggy in this movie, Nick Palatas, goes to a  museum to learn more about dinosaurs. It was funny and educational all at the same time. The design on the disc looks cool...personally at least.
**Don't give Scooby any coffee**

Iron Man

Description:
When wealthy industrialist Tony Stark is forced to build an armored suit after a life-threatening incident, he ultimately decides to use its technology to fight against evil.

The movie was awesome, but then again everything Tony Stark does is awesome. I know that Tony Stark is nowhere near the actor's real name (my friend would kill me if I forgot Robert Downey Jr.'s name), it was simply a pun on part of the movie. Loved the ending, never does what he is told to do. Can't wait to see Iron Man 2 or till Iron Man 3 comes out...

Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost

Description:
Scooby-Doo and the gang visit Oakhaven, Massachusetts to seek strange goings on involving a mysterious horror novelist and his ancestor who is rumored be a witch.

Overall, it's a general Scooby-Doo movie (there is a mystery and can't be solved and the gang solves it). I like how they  put a spin on it, by making it slightly historical, so it broke the monotony a bit. It showed the difference between a Witch and a Wiccan, which I thought was pretty cool since personally I think it's hard to tell the difference now-a-days for most people.
*On the DVD I have it has the character bios of the gang, which honestly was more like an interesting/fun facts kind of thing, with most of the stuff coming from watching most of the Scooby-Doo series/movies. Though there were a couple of new things.

Black Butler

Description:
Just a stone's throw away from London lies the manor house of the illustrious Phantomhive earldom and its young master, Ciel Phantomhive. On the night of Ciel Phantomhive's tenth birthday, a fire engulfed his manor. The boy was missing for a month before returning with a mysterious black clad butler, Sebastian. The servant is actually a demon that had entered into a contract with Ciel, promising the boy to help him achieve revenge on the arsonists in exchange for his soul. Sebastian Michealis, an exceptionally loyal butler, is ever at Ciel's side, ready to carry out his young master's wishes. As the Queen's guard dog and standing at the top of the British underworld, the young boy must face many difficulties along the way. Black Butler is set in the Victorian era, and carries with it the typical eloquence of its time.

Loved the art, personally I think it has a confusing plot. Season one seemed like the absolute end to the series, because all of his enemies are taken care of for the most part, and implied that he dies. When I found out about season two I was wondering if Sebastian had a new master and that it would end up with a lot of spin-offs. The second season was pretty good, though it doesn't explain what happened between the seasons. Under laying hints of shonen-ai.

Death Trance

Description:
A fearsome samurai hungering for the ultimate challenge is forced to do battle with a powerful temple monk intent on preventing ultimate destruction in an action-packed swordplay adventure in which the fate of the world lies in a mysterious coffin. Grave  is a samurai whose power is unequaled by mortal man. In his desperate quest to find a suitable foe with whom to do battle, Grave steals an ancient coffin from the Tougan Temple said to contain the mythical Goddess of Destruction. Now, as Grave drags the coffin across the countryside in search of a way to pry it open and unleash the power contained inside, a temple monk charged with the task of ensuring the safety of mankind sets out to stop Grave from freeing the Goddess of Destruction even if it means sacrificing his own life in the process.

Bought it since it looked an action packed movie of awesomeness that was not too bloody. All of the above turned out to be true with some comedy tossed into it all randomly. It was slightly confusing in the plot, since it is the movie starts in the middle of something and doesn't explain much until the end. It was a good movie and I would love to see a sequel of it. Or at least something with more explanation.
***recently found out they made a manga

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant

Description:
Teenager, Darren Shan, meets a mysterious man at a freak show who turns out to be a Vampire. After a series of events Darren must leave his normal life and go on the road with the Cirque Du Freak and become a Vampire.

It was a good movie, the beginning credits took forever though they were fun to watch at first. Once again taking a perfectly good book and changing a lot of it in the movie. The movie ends in a way that suggests another movie…(2009) it has been over a couple of years and not a single word…so I'm guessing it was just there for the vampire phase Hollywood went through. I would love to see a sequel or something to it.

The Ten

Summary:
Ten stories, each inspired by one of the ten commandments.

A comedy movie about the ten commandments. Ten stories to tell the ten commandments, in a very unique way. The stories don't always make sense, but they do have connections...There was a story in between each other the stories...which ends up as the last story and kind of goes with story that comes next. Not a huge fan of the movie, it was okay...nothing spectacular though.

Hollow Man

Summary:
Scientists discover how to make people invisible, but their test subject becomes an insane killer who stalks them.

Was a good movie...I would have liked to know more on the mental progression to the insane stage. Not sure how the second movie will go, similar story, or the fact that people didn't learn the first time.....May or may not watch the second movie.

Blood: The Last Vampire

Summary:
A vampire named Saya, who is part of covert government agency that hunts and destroys demons in a post-WWII Japan, is inserted in a military school to discover which one of her classmates is a demon in disguise.

Great movie, doesn't represent the anime much. All it had was the fact she was a "vampire" with a sword. It was easy to follow and had action....and drama, I could have gone without the drama, but ehhh.

Maybe they decided to tweak a few things such as: knowing what she is, turning Diva into her mother, and no cool minions, yet minions.

The Warrior's Way

Summary:
A warrior-assassin is forced to hide in a small town in the American Badlands after refusing a mission.

Action packed almost all the way through, only slows down to give the viewer a break, but really just to set up another plot. The fighting scenes seemed more graceful than violent. At first, I thought it would be more violent'graphic, since it was rated R only for the graphic violence, so I feel slightly unhappy about it; but looking back I think it was violent and I was just having too much fun to notice. It had a good ending, not something I was expecting.

*There were deleted scenes, some made sense and some didn't. There was also a " behind-the-scenes montage", personally won't call it a montage, since I think of the Rocky movie training montage....but it was interesting to hear the actors/actresses opinions.

CJ7

Summary:
A poor Chinese laborer learns important lessons after his son gets a strange new toy.

Loved the cuteness, the reason why it was bought, and it says a family movie (yay no more having to hide DVDs that have just been bought)....well, it is a nice movie, don't get me wrong, but the idea I had of a family movie has been shaped by Disney a little too much. Yes, it has a moral to it, but a bit too obvious and dark for me to consider it a family movie. Overall I must say in the end it was a great movie though, and the wonderful happy ending happens and all that good stuff.

Candyman

Summary:
The Candyman, a murderous soul with a hook for a hand, is accidentally summoned to reality by a skeptic grad student researching the monster's myth.

It was an awesome movie, though I still have many questions. I hope that the two movies that follow will answer them. At first, it was just a "wtf" (what the fudge) on the bee and the eye, it does get answered....but in the process, it opens may more questions. I would say it has psychological themes, but then it goes real.... At points the main character is just plain stupid, but it's a horror film so it's understandable...to an extent, I mean why would she keep picking something up if the cops are suspecting her...."stop picking up sharp objects". In the end it left me wanting to know more, so eventually I will hunt down the other movies; yet, I hope they don't follow the same pattern too much, since I get bored easily.
